Urethral Cyst during pregnancy... need advice... dr on lunch...?

I have had a urethral cyst most of my pregnancy. They were going to remove it, but my baby suddenly dropped dramatically and they were afraid I would go into labor if they gave me anesthesia.


I noticed today that I had extra discharge and that it was coming from the cyst. It smells horrible and is greenish/yellowish in color as if it is infected (sorry I know, TMI). The doctor was worried about infection, and now it seems to have occurred. I called the dr office to tell them what was going on and to get a recommendation but they are on lunch and said they would call me back. I'm in a lot of pain. Should I go to the hospital? What will they most likely do for me? Is there any risk to my baby?

If I were you I would go ahead and go to the hospital. An infection in that area right now is not a good thing. I'm not positive but it does sound like it could cause problems with the pregnancy. If you were to go into labor right now the baby should be fine. I had my daughter at 34w6days and she went home in 2 days. Just go ahead to the hospital it is better to be safe then sorry. Good Luck
