no its not illegal ,people offer advice to others through out life as long as the recipient uses their common sense and also seeks medical advice where neededIs it illegal to give medical advice (if you aren't a DR.) on Yahoo answers?
It's not illegal as long as you don't claim to be a medical doctor when you are not.
If they ask, you have the right to give. Just don't claim to be a doctor!
It may depend on the nature of the medical advice. ';Try this drug'; or if you try to position yourself as an MD.
As long as we don't falsely profess to be a medical doctor n charge a fee for our advice/time, I believe it's ok.
If you check the terms %26amp; conditions it states that the answers are only opinions not facts
i would not of thought so unless you give the false impression that you are some kind of expert.
No, not illegal. If you are pretending to be an M.D. and give out info that could cause someone harm, you may have a problem.
Legal? I don't think the government is going to bust you for doing it unless you claim to be a doctor. But you could get sued.
I'd just use lots of disclaimers, such as:
';THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. BEFORE TRYING ANY TREATMENTS DISCUSS THEM WITH A MEDICAL DOCTOR.';
That's just what it is, advice, so I think it's ok. As long as the asker is aware not to take all answers completely or at all seriously.
NO it is not illegal. But, you do leave yourself open for a law suit if the person receiving the advice follows your advice and gets hurt.
No but it's probably crazy to accept it.
nope
you ask
you get
Read the disclaimer, Skippy.
Not illegal! but I think you should think 100 times before giving a REAL medical advice because you'll be responsible for the others life!
Not if you are refering to something that has happened to you that you are trying to share exp. on. ,or if you state you looked up the info in a book, web etc...
Oppinions and helpful suggestions are fine, but I believe it's illigal even if the person IS a doctor.
Yahoo guidelines just say you can't use false credentials. You can't tell people you're a doctor if you are not but you can give advice on any subject. Here are the rules:http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_鈥?/a>
It is illegal to give medical advice, ie, diagnosing, medicine suggestions . . . in all situations, not just on Answers.
The correct answer always is ';Talk to a doctor';.
you ask some good questions(i looked at your previous ones)- but this is not one of them!
What kind of fool would risk their life to take medical advice from an unknown?
Not if it's peoples opinions. Or if they have gone through similar situations.
Medicale advise - it is advaice of a doctor. Other - it is just advaice :)
No, due to implied consent. The asker realizes that the person answering the question is most likely not going to be a licensed professional.
