Is this your regular doctor .. or is this a psychiatrist? Hopefully you are seeing a therapist who can help you overcome the panic attacks .Been to dr mant imes for panic attacks, need advice??
It's been my experience that most doctors don't really care about you, and instead keep prescribing more meds because they gain money from them. If you're looking for something that works like Xanax, why not just ask the doctor to prescribe Xanax to you?

As for anxiety/panic attacks, find out what triggers these attacks and try to lessen your involvement with these triggers. It also helps to try to drop the stress levels in your life, and take each day as it comes, and not to worry too much about the future.
I started with my doctor. He checked to make sure I didn't have a mitral valve prolapse or an overactive thyroid and I didn't. So, we concluded I had anxiety. I started Lexapro 10 mg and Xanax .25 3 times a day. It helped, but not fully. I started with a therapist 2 weeks ago and he upped me to Lexapro 20 mg and Xanax.5 3 times a day. The upped xanax is only supposed to be for a short time. He doesn't want me on it very long. I suggest you go to another doctor. Mine had no problem writing me xanax. Honestly, I would have probably killed myself if I didn't have it this whole experience. I would really try another doc, because obviously this one doesn't understand the terror that people with panic disorders deal with. I sympathize with you, but if you see the right doc and get on the right meds, you WILL get better.
would like to suggest you a fantastic way using which you can end panic atttacks for ever.Imagine you never worrying about panic attacks and life will be so good. I am feeling the same thing after having this. This does not require you to take any medications or any phils or any doctor. You can jsut do it your self and with in 2 days you will be out of that

Xanax is the last thing you want. It is highly addictive and can lead to much worse problems than anxiety. Get the facts:

Try a psychologist, instead of throwing pills at your problem, they actually help you solve it. Ask about Cognitive Therapy.
