Im thinking about going to UNIBE in DR for medical school? any advice?

I wouldn't recommend the school. Unless you're really up to date on Caribbean medical schools you won't be aware of all of the problems. The short answer and smart advice is to only go to a medical school that is recognized by the Medical Board of California: http://www.medbd.ca.gov/applicant/school鈥?/a>

Not only is UNIBE not a recognized school, several states will not license graduates from this school. You'd be wise to check with your state medical board to see if it is one of them. But be forewarned, even if it recognizes it today doesn't mean it will recognize it in the future.

More and more states are changing their policies to only accept the schools approved by the Medical Board of California. California is the ';Gold Standard'; for Caribbean medical schools and only a handful meet the criteria. In the past three years, multiple states abruptly changed their policies to only accept California's approved schools, which resulted in many students having to repeat their education.
