Just had 18wk scan and told our baby is 10 days too small. The Dr really freaked us out. Any advice?

He mentioned that it could be a chromosonal disorder, although unlikely given our risk factor, or hindered growth due to an incident such as infection. I'm really worried as no possitive possibilities were given by the doctor it was all doom and gloom! My husband and I were 9 and 10 lbs babies so its not expected.Just had 18wk scan and told our baby is 10 days too small. The Dr really freaked us out. Any advice?
Hopefully they are going to do more tests to determine the cause. Could it be that they estimated the wrong due date? You still have a lot of time for the baby to grow. Just wondering if he knew your lmp and baby is 10 days to small. Only measuring by ultrasound and not by concievement date. As if you are 18 weeks baby is 16 weeks in development.I dont know if this has anything to do with it. Possibly..





Also there is a medicine they can give to help with babies growth. It helps them develop - Because they are growing smaller. usually given to twins when to small.
