How soon can you have sex after a coloscopy? Dr. says 10 days but friend said she did after three. Need advice

My Fiance's birthday will be four days after having had the coloscopy done.. I want to be intimate with him but want to make sure I will not hurt myself. I feel no pain now but need advice from someone who knows. Thank YouHow soon can you have sex after a coloscopy? Dr. says 10 days but friend said she did after three. Need advice
Did you have a biopsy done also? I had that done and had a biopsy done also so I waited the whole 10 days they say that so you don't get an infection. How soon can you have sex after a coloscopy? Dr. says 10 days but friend said she did after three. Need advice
You need to follow your ob/gyn's advice on this one. I have worked in an ob/gyn's office and I can tell you, if you call and ask your Dr, they are going to say wait the 10 days. Better off waiting, then causing yourself a big problem, and then having to wait longer, Good luck!
I would follow my doctor's advice, he/she is the expert. A colposcopy is an invasive procedure into your vagina and it needs to heal before anything else is entered into it.
You really should ask the doctor or nursing staff where you had the procedure done. They will be the most educated on the subject and can give you safe advice.

By the way, intimacy doesn't have to include intercourse. Just a thought.
The DR knows more about your inner workings than your friend. Wait the ten days... he will still be there and you will enjoy it more knowing that ANY potential for a problem is not there. If he loves you ... he will understand...

Enjoy.
My advice is to always follow the doctors orders after having things like this done. U never know what could happen. Everyone is different. U could end up being one of the unlucky ones and hurt yourself if u do not listen to your doc. Your fiance will understand and if not then he ain't worth it.
Well, after I had one I didn't have sex until my next period was gone. You can never know with those kinds of things. It might not hurt but you could get an infection and we never want those.
