What do you think about my dr.'s advice?

She wants me to keep taking an HPT once a week because I have had no period in July. I have a very sore chest but I am moody and irritable just like a period. I really don't want to alert the media if it is nothing. My BF is really on me trying to get a yes or a no.


When I call the advice nurse, they said they will not schedule me an appointment.

Home pregnancy tests are generally very accurate, especially after a week past your period.





If you are at least a week late, and the test was negative, take a second one to confirm it.





It's not unusual to just skip a period once in a while, the female body isn't perfect science and periods don't always work like a finely tuned machine... unfortunately. ;)





Perhaps they did not schedule an appointment because they don't see any need to, given that the test was negative, indicating you aren't pregnant. It's normal to have period like symptoms (irritable, bloating, soreness, etc.) and to have missed a period if you are otherwise healthy. So, don't panic yourself.

Get another doctor or go to the health department. If you want a blood test then find someone to do it.
I think you need a new doctor. This should have been solved your 1st visit with a blood test and if that came out neg a good Dr would figure out what was going on. Good luck!
No, if you feel like something is going on with your body, whether it be pregnant or messed up period, you deserve for your doctor to check you out to see whats going on. Find a new doctor if you can. If not demand an appointment. Try your General Practitioner if your OB wont take you, or go to your OB if its the GP that is being this way.
Quite frankly, that doctor is an idiot. If you are still getting -HPT and no AF then she should of given you a bloodtest to check for HCG, so you can get a definite answer either way. Get another opinion, that doc and advice nurse just sounds lazy and aren't into doing their jobs properly. WTF!!! indeed, it's not right to keep a patient lingering for weeks on end.
Just call and say I need a pregnancy test bc I got a faint positive...just do a little white lie and get a test....or go to health department they will do it!!! Good luck!! oh and by the way find a new DOCTOR!!!!
that is horrible advice... makes your anxiety go through the roof and hpt are expensive! find another doc!
