I had ginger tea in the morning, only could stomach, slowly sipping 1/2 cup. If I ended up hugging the porcelain throne, then my husband would bring me ginger ale to sip. What worked for me was not to eat anything til 8:30 am besides sipping 1/2 cup ginger tea in the morning...then, would nibble on food every 15 - 20 mins. (never hungry, never full). If you use fresh ginger, it is extremely strong and kinda spicy. But it can be sliced and boiled.
My best advice though is that they make ginger Altoids now. (You know the strong mints in the metal tin.) I'd try those first!
Ginger Ale is easy. You can make ginger tea. Fresh ginger (get the foot or already ground in the produce section, near salad fixings)
About a tablespoon of ginger, some hot water, lemon and honey or other sweetener of your choice.
Candied ginger is good too. Get that in the ethnic isle in the grocery or in the dried fruits area.
If you can find them, Altoids (the strong mint people) make a ginger one that is hot but works great, for me anyway.
