What would Dr King have said to multimillionaire NBA black athletes like Dallas Maverick Josh Howard who refuse to respect the national anthem, because, as he said 'I'm black. I don't have time for it';
Owner Cuban said he would talk to him about it.Dr. Martin Luther King - Respect his advice?
Dr. King respected the National Anthem as well as the United States. He saw areas where things needed improved but he also knew that America was the best place for people of all colors to life themselves up as well as each other. He was actually a very brilliant human being. G-d rest his soul.
Hope this helps...Dr. Martin Luther King - Respect his advice?
Only Dr. King can answer that question, as for Josh Howard I can feel where he is coming from if you grow up black in this country you will have a different perspective on things like this, if for most of your life you are treated like you like you are not wanted on your own country, then things like the national anthem just becomes a song with no real meaning to you personally. To black people reading this how many times have you heard ';Go Back to Africa';.Those are the things that make you feel unpatriotic.Walk in that mans shoes before judging him.
If it were a ';religious'; matter, then I could see it, to me that is just ignorance on his part. Yeah you're black, your point? If it were not for the opportunities afforded to you by the United States of America, your butt wouldn't be making the money you are now, you and the rest of the African Americans would probably still be in the fields picking cotton, or worse, dead. Just because you have a talent and ';money'; doesn't not give you the right to be disrespectful. There are three things one should always respect, 1 God and Country, 2 yourself, and 3 others.
hoos Dr. King?

Dr Phil...does he give practical advice?
I think Dr. Phil is a pompous moron who likes to hear himself speak.Dr Phil...does he give practical advice?
Believe he is in Tom Cruise state of mind, plus just loves to hear his own voice, he can be insulating at times, even Oprah has not been that badDr Phil...does he give practical advice?
no
no, he just likes to hear himself judge people
When on TV, he is an entertainer. If I were seeing him in his office and paying upwards of $100 per hour, I would want him to behave professionally and treat me civilly. I see his whole approach as an act. I don't pay attention to his advice.
Practical advice....yes, if you can afford the ';therapy sessions'; he advises most people to go to.
I used to dislike Dr. Phil strongly, LOL, but I was basing that on the fact that he is a sort of spin-off from Oprah, who is not one of my favorites (she seems a bit too self-absorbed at times, especially when she's being ';philanthropic';). I started watching his show several months ago, off and on, and honestly, I think that the advice he gives is just common sense. The people on the show are usually so far over the edge of reality that what he says can sound like the Gospel, LOL! He does seem to run into some problems, however, when people are not impressed with him or his advice and I find those shows funny (embarrassing for him, though, I would imagine).
he is a ****** and only wants to hear himself speak!
Depends on what you call practical advice.
I have never heard him say anything pratical!!
It has been reported that if one goes to a taping of his show, you have to sign a release that his advice is not a guarantee of any type of treatment, and is for entertaiment purposes only.

Does anyone see a Dr. here or they rather have outside advice?
i have a doctor that i go toDoes anyone see a Dr. here or they rather have outside advice?
I have to agree that way too many of the questions in here should be addressed by medical professionals. I've been in medicine for over 15 years (no, not a doctor) and I cringe at some of the questions that people are waiting for an answer in here for. Some of these people are risking their health and the health of their children by receiving advice that may not be the most sound. Also, I wish people would use 1/2 a brain cell and realize that anyone in the medical profession worth their salt is not going to diagnose a condition over the internet without having examined the person for themselves!
Also, is there a shortage on pregnancy tests? Do they no longer teach sex ed in school? I can't believer how many people ask if they could be pregnant or how babies are made!!Does anyone see a Dr. here or they rather have outside advice?
If you mean why people ask info online instead of to a dr., alot of dr.'s are so busy they dont make you feel comfortable asking question after question. Some people dont have health insurance to always be seeing a dr., others would like to compare what others have experienced or found out... Some people (myself in particular) always seem to forget to ask when I am at he dr.'s!!!
i go to my family docter
people probably come to the internet for support. Personally speaking I do have a doctor but it is always better to hear a simular situation and hear others outcomes and figure out if a 25.00 copay is exactly worth it or not

35 weeks, dr can feel baby head, cervix is closed... feeling pressure. Advice please?
This is my 1st so I am not exactly sure what I will feel and what it all means.
Today, dr checked cervix is closed but she can feel head and that the baby is moving into my pelvic area. I have been feeling some pressure in my vaginal area and towards my bottom. I know this could be from her pushing or moving lower... could it be that labor is close by or this is just normal for this time frame???35 weeks, dr can feel baby head, cervix is closed... feeling pressure. Advice please?
It's normal and will only get worse before the baby comes. Last month is rough.35 weeks, dr can feel baby head, cervix is closed... feeling pressure. Advice please?
This same thing happened to me. I hoped that my cervix would start to soften and dilate, but didn't until the week before I had him. :( This is all normal tho, least it was with me. I didn't start to dilate until I was 38 weeks preg.... I felt miserable, but it was worth it.
It's normal, but stay in contact with your doc, and take it really easy, no lifting, bending, and if possible, no stress. she'll be here soon, and congrats!!!!
If the baby has descended into the lower pelvic region then birth is only two weeks away give or take a few days. That is about right seeing how term is between 38 and 42 weeks.cosmetics

39 weeks pregnant, unbearable pubic bone pressure, dr refuses to help any advice??
I am 39 weeks pregnant now and for the past 5 days i have had the WORST pressure down there on my pubic bone and cervix. My dr refuses to do anything about it because i'm only dialted to a 1 1/2. I can barley even WALK!!! Every time i move my legs or tighten my muscles the pain is horrible. I've tried the nipple stimulation and sex she recommended but nothing is working. I need some relief! Miltary Dr's are not the greatest apparantly they are cheap so they don't want to do anything unless they have to. My family is in from across the country because the dr said i was going to have her last week now they have to leave on SATURDAY and i'm still pregnant! I don't know what to do!!! Any advice at all will help. Advice on inducing safely that actually has a chance of working or at least helping with this horrible pain!39 weeks pregnant, unbearable pubic bone pressure, dr refuses to help any advice??
I had that happen to i got sent home even though i was having really bad back labor and contractions. I know it sucks but try walking, and also take a warm bath!!! it helps you relax. I my water broke while i was in the tub :-) and i was 41 weeks pregnant so i know how bad it is! the pressure is probably just the baby pushing on you, my daughter would kick the crap out of my cervix and sides. Once your dr office is closed just go to the ER and hopefully they will have a better dr on call!!! Good luck!! hope you have the baby soon!!39 weeks pregnant, unbearable pubic bone pressure, dr refuses to help any advice??
I was washing the bathrooms - even though they were clean, I was doing it the whole day!!! hey, I went into labor at 2 am! I guess it worked! :)
Call that docotor and tell her you need to be seen immediately and your going to keep calling until she does somthing about it.You have the right to be atleast seen even if you aren't dialated much. You should tell her that what if somthing is wrong with your baby and she just ignores you she'll fell like sh!t.
Just walk and try and stretch a bit. Your doctor must be an HMO. Oh, I just saw military, yeah they are the worst.
Oh god you must be in agony you poor thing I used castor oil to bring on my second child as she was overdue take 2 or 3 big tablespoons of the oil in some orange juice it tasted horrible but it worked and as i was 10 days overdue it was worth it
Walk a lot. Soak in a warm tub. And go to labor and delivery if it gets worse and refuse to leave.
I was experiencing that with my last one (#3 of 3 girls). My doc told me to go to labor and delivery. They blew me off and sent me home. The next morning, I literally almost had her in the hospital parking lot. She was completely crowned before we ever got there. I was in my hospital room less than 10 minutes before they announced the time of birth.
(This wasn't a military hospital either. I simply wasn't having regular contractions, and they were relying too heavily on that information. Never even checked my cervix.)
I can tell you what not to do, and that would be something stupid like take castor oil or try to make your own water break. Castor oil will just make you throw up and have diarrhea, it does not make the baby come any faster. Trying to induce yourself is highly unsafe and can cause complications or affect your baby, so you need to just hang tight. The old wives tales never hurt anyone though, the sex, bumpy drives, baths, spicy foods.....
Also, why would the doctor tell you that you were going to have the baby in the next week and you were not even dilated to 2 yet? He is not God, he does not know unless he is planning on inducing. That is just giving you false hope and has made your family come out for nothing. Tell him he owes you a membrane stripping! If you have never heard, the stripping of the membranes is supposed to thin the cervix and release the hormones that will help dilate you. It is quite uncomfortable, but could work (doesn't work for everyone so don't put all your eggs in one basket here). It is a medical procedure so you don't have to worry about harming the baby. He may not do it until you are 40 wks though. No doc will usually induce you before then.
I had the pelvic pain and pressure starting about 38 wks and did not have my son until 42.5 weeks--you heard right. Needless to say I have a new doc this time around.
I am so sorry you are going thru this. All you can do is just walk and walk and stretch and try to hang in there.
I had my first daughter through the military and it was so bad! I know how you feel unless they see the babies head they dont want to do anything. They told me it was going to be two weeks till i had her but my husband didnt believe them so they suggested walking the mall. We did that till it hurt so bad we couldnt walk anymore. I went to the ER and told them i was in labor they took me right away and sent me up to labor and delivery. The doc still said it wasnt going to happen but my husband refused to take me home till they gave me something. Six hours later i had her! Thank god i didnt leave! I would go to the ER and Refuse to leave till they give you something! GOOD LUCK!
You might want to check out this new website which
can help you find answers on how to naturally induce labor (and more):

If you just click on 'What are some activities that might help induce labor?' you will get something like 30 great links to pages that have a variety of different ways to help encourage labor. Good luck.
drink rasberry tea. this should help. and i know it is painful but walking does help. have someone walk with you so you can lean on them. you are so lucky to be close to your due date. i am 32 weeks and i am so tired of being pregnant, but i will be patient.
Yes, I have that pain it feels like something hard is trying to push against my pelvic bone... I was convinced it was my sons head...
Dr. said there was nothing he could do...
Try walking up and down steps or squatting with your legs apart... Good Luck!
I hope your daughter arrives while your family is still there...
Unfortunately there is no quick or certain FIX for such things now. My first baby was on my tail bone at the end and caused me horrible sciatic pain too - I doubt there is anything the doctor or any doctor could honestly DO to relieve this now without inducing labor. I had that done with #4 and it was the most HORRIBLE birth of my 4 that I experienced. I do not recommend that!
Have you tried laying on your back with pillows under your hips %26amp; butt - it's an odd position but it might coerce the baby to move enough or readjust his position to relieve pain a LITTLE. I hear tha taking caster oil DOES induce labor - it tastes absolutely HORRIBLE and causes other physcial discomfort and puts you on the toile rather OFTEN if you know what I mean - but I hear it is a SURE way to get labor started. Walking is said to help but never did for me either..
Have you tried getting into a swimming pool and MOVING around that way? It is much less strenuous on YOU but might ease some pressure and stimulate labor as well. You're almost at the end - try to hang in there and be patient.... soon it will all be a long gone dream and you'll hold a new beautiful little dream in your arms instead!
I know it hurts to walk but any exercise you can endure will help! Best of luck to you and your family!
When i was pregant with my son i had the same thing, on my right hip could walk at all. So i always took a bath to realx myself, and now you can get massages that help reducing the pressure. Honestly theres not too much you can do. Walking helps you dyalate so try if you can. Other wise keep you with the sex, it'll help soften the cervex to dyalate more..
walk ,walk, walk and every once in a while squat down and that will help! it did for me. I know at 38 weeks you are big and dont feel like walking moreless moving at all. sorry. Do you have a breast pump? If so pump a little it could help. The only other thing that i know would be sex . GOOD LUCK!!! and congrats!

I don't have experience of Munir Khan's products because I wouldn't waste a penny of my money on such quackery.
Munir Khan is a complete fraud. He's an unscrupulous charlatan trying to part desperate and vulnerable people from their money
He is not a medical doctor, and he's is trying to sell us a product which has not been tested or proven to cure or treat cancer in any way.
This is a quote from his website:
''Body Revive actually dissolves the Breast Cancer cells and flushes them out of the body through urine, stools %26amp; vomit.''
Clearly he is no sort of scientist.
Please don't waste another minute of your time on this and please don't part with any money for it.

I have a sharp pain in my lower r abdomen, im 4wks5days prego. dr, says im fine. any advice?
i had a miscaraige 1 month ago and levels went back down to 1 and tissue was all passed. no dnc was required. i am not 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant. ultrasound today showed a healthy pregnancy in uterine. so dr. said i was good to go. but i cant help but wonder about this pain i am having in my lower abdomen. it comes and goes real quick and then its gone. can it be muscles stretching?I have a sharp pain in my lower r abdomen, im 4wks5days prego. dr, says im fine. any advice?
i would say so, yes. round ligament pain is a killer in early pregnancy, I had it and was terrified as I have also had a miscarriage and was convinced that was what it was. It is very easy to stress out after a miscarriage. My advise to u would be to try to relax as much as possible now and don't get hung up on every twinge. The chances of it happening again are very small but if it does it does, there is nothing u an do to prevent it, so don't dwell on it possibly happening again, think positively and loook forward to your beautiful baby arriving in 9 months. thats what i did, and she is due in a weeks time!!! Good luck to u xxI have a sharp pain in my lower r abdomen, im 4wks5days prego. dr, says im fine. any advice?
Well As well as you I had a miscarriage In March and a month later I found out I was pregnant again. Now im 7 weeks prego and I also feel a little sharp pain in my lower abdoman as well. I talked to ppl about it they say they experienced it in their first trimester..Congrats and Good Luck
Could also be some nasty gas, I had that in early preganacy, sharp pains and then about a half hour later, presto!
Your pain sounds like mine. Dont worry about it since the dr said it was ok. I had weird pains too, and now I am 34 weeks.
thank you all for your help.
I would say yes it is probably ligaments and muscles stretching as your uterus starts growing. Unless you have cramping I would try not to worry. I know it is hard, I've had two miscarriages and I'm pregnant again and it is always on your mind. But stress from worrying isn't good for you. Good luck!
I've never been pregnant before, but I would say that if the pain continues, don't take any chances and continue to seek medical advice and help. Good luck.
I would say it is your muscles stretching with the ligaments. I suffered my entire pregnancy with this and swore i was gonna have another miscarriage. MY advice is rest and try a maturity belt.
It's stretching ligaments- this will happen throughout pregnancy but is more noticable in the beginning because you have not experienced it before.
A miscarriage 1 month ago and you are 4 wks, 5days pregnant. The pain you feel is a latent bowel movement. You are full of it.

Could also be some nasty gas, I had that in early preganacy, sharp pains and then about a half hour later, presto!

Your pain sounds like mine. Dont worry about it since the dr said it was ok. I had weird pains too, and now I am 34 weeks.

Anyone who's dr, nurse, or anyone, need advice. Blackout after donation?
Last week Wed I went to donate plasma for the first time. Everything went fine. I had to be taped up instead of using a band-aid to stop the bleeding but that was it. I went back on Fri to donate again, you have to wait 24hrs at least. Everything was cool through the whole process. I finished and went to wait for my payment, yes they pay you. I decided to tie my shoe so that I could walk around while I waited. When I let go of the gauze they gave me to apply pressure with it started bleeding everywhere. I had to go stand over the trash can and wait a second for someone to bring me new clean gauze and some alcohol wipes to clean me up. While the guy was cleaning up my arm and hand I told him I felt like I needed to sit down. I was feeling dizzy. Next thing I know I was being carried to a bed. I could feel them pick me up and I could see the a little bit of the whites of their jackets, but that's it. I'm not sure if I totally blacked out or not. What's your opinion?Anyone who's dr, nurse, or anyone, need advice. Blackout after donation?
Just make sure that you're well hydrated before you go donate again. Dehydration be it mild or severe can cause syncope (fainting). This is because if your blood pressure is decreased, which it is since you have less blood volume since plasma was removed, there is less blood traveling to your brain. When this happens, you can faint or almost faint like you described. Alternatively some people freak out about seeing their own blood and can faint from that as well. If you're a very thin person, then that can lead to fainting as well since thin people already have low blood pressures to begin with. You don't sound like your blood sugar was low, which can be another cause.
I've attached an article to teach you more. I hope this helps.Anyone who's dr, nurse, or anyone, need advice. Blackout after donation?
you are no better than a piece of crab
If you go to China, you could probably also sell your organs.
that kind of happened to me too you probably sat up to farst or didnt have enough fluid and energy in ya, just make sure you eat before next time and arent too tired and stressed and drinks lots and get all your fruit and vegetables, dont sit up too quick and have some refreshments after, DONT DRIVE if this happened last time and it should be on your records that it did happen......and i duno where you live but we have to wait 6 months to dontate again.....24 hours was probably why you blacked out, do they test your iron levels? if they dont then they should to make sure you can donate and you arent close to becoming emenic
As a lab tech who worked for the blood bank it was pretty routine to see people having VVR's (vaso-vegal reactions) from both plasma and whole blood donations. Although whole blood donor reactions were more frequent due to loss of volume thus a sudden drop in blood pressure, plasma donors too had incidents. Your case seems more like a reaction to the ';leak that sprung'; on your arm. Also pretty common. Please continue to be a good Samaritan though. Donating blood is a cool thing. Always let them know ALL medications (prescription or OTC) that your taking. This is very important for the recipient. BE BLESSED!

I am 35/36wks witth GD will be induced at 38 wks but not dialated yet DR. seems worried about this any advice.
everyone dilates differently, im 38 almost 39 weeks and i am not dialated at all and my doctor says it is perfectly normal. I wouldnt be concerned about it especially if you are going to be induced anywayI am 35/36wks witth GD will be induced at 38 wks but not dialated yet DR. seems worried about this any advice.
The reasons for induction when dealing with GD is twofold: 1) babies tend to be larger, leading to a risk of c-section after a long unsuccessful labor (though this is not always the case it is a risk); 2) GD is a health danger to mom and baby, the sooner the baby is born the sooner GD is gone.
It is not at all abnormal to not be dialating at 35/36 weeks. I have known people who were 41 weeks and not dialated. In fact my friend was induced at 41 weeks with each of her two kids and had no problems, both labors were about 8-12 hrs long which is pretty average.
Prhaps your doctor is concerned that if you have not dialated by then your induction mght take longer, but again, there is no guarantee of this either. Some women do not dialate until they are in labor. some dialate slow, others really fast.
Try not to worry and just prepare for your babies arrival, Good luck and congrats!I am 35/36wks witth GD will be induced at 38 wks but not dialated yet DR. seems worried about this any advice.
Advice?...On what exactly hun?
You're going to be induced in 2 weeks no? It doesn't matter if you're not dialated, you will be induced anyway.....so you can start dialating..
GD is something to be concerned about...that's why your Doctor is inducing you early.....right?
Advice would be....
Try and take the next two weeks as slow as possible.
I'm glad you and the baby have made it this far! I don't think the dilation matters much, but ask him why it concerns him. Ask for the details so that you aren't so worried! Have you lost your mucus plug yet? Maybe that is his concern? If you loose it, you have dilated a little and the baby is more viable. Hope he will give you straight answers! But mostly, you be sure you are ready to bring baby home, have everything arranged to be convenient for you, and relax! Enjoy this baby!!!!
I had GD and started dilating at 30 weeks. Went to the hospital several times for them to stop labor. I'd dilate up to 5 before it would stop. They kept me overnight 3 times. At 32 weeks they started giving me steroids to help his lungs develop, and then induced after I had taken them for several days. He is fine and healthy @2 yrs.
The reason your doctor is worried is because if they induce and your cervix isn't favorable for labor it will most likely end in a c-section. What got me dilating was sex (if you can) acupressure and squats. Semen can soften your cervix (they'll give you stuff at the hospital but wouldn't you rather have something natural?) and acupressure and squatting helps to descend the baby which puts pressure on the cervix helping to dilate it. Also walking will help too, and if you can walk with one foot on the curb, one off. Good luck!cosmetics

Daughter has had sleep disturbances for 18 mths (night terrors). Dr has today suggested thyroid. Any advice?
Take your dr's advice. Is there any way she could have been abused? Or has something very major or traumatic happened? Those are the only non-physical things I can think of to make night terrors happen for so long.Daughter has had sleep disturbances for 18 mths (night terrors). Dr has today suggested thyroid. Any advice?
I suffered from night terrors for over two years as a child between the ages of 6 and 8, and I eventually grew out of them. I can remember every single one to this day, including all the details of what I saw, but it does not hinder me in any way as an adult 40 years of age. If the doctor's then would have tried something medically, I am sure I would be very screwed up today either medically, mentally, or both! I also had to deal with this with my own daughter for a couple of years, and I know its not easy. My daughter slept with my wife and I for a while. Shes fine now. It takes time and patience, but after a little while you'll be able to wing her off to sleep comfortable in her own room by herself. I would not advise that you let the doctors tell you what to do in this situation. They don't know everything. That's why they practice medicine to see what works. Let this ride out. Your daughter will be fine.Daughter has had sleep disturbances for 18 mths (night terrors). Dr has today suggested thyroid. Any advice?
My 2 year old had night terrors around that age. His doctor said I could try giving him an iron supplement, b/c there is a slight link. She said, she's never had a patient whom it made a difference in though. He grew out of them about 3 months later.
Has she had her thyroid checked?

The medical profession likes people to donate blood because they can use it. They deny it, but its NOT GOOD FOR YOU to donate blood. If you care about your health, you'll stop donating blood.Anyone who's dr, nurse, or anyone, need advice. Blackout after donation?
Donating blood should not effect your health.
Donating twice in 3 days is not a good idea. When you went back to donate a second time in the same week, were they aware that you had just given blood a few days earlier?
My bet is that they didn't. Not a good idea.
Fainting or blacking out after donating blood or in your case plasma is such a common occurrence, which is why you are generally urged to sit down for 10 minutes afterwards and have a cup of tea.
Your difficulties arose as much as anything because of bending over to tie your shoes, which meant that your body couldn't compensate fast enough when you stood up, and the profuse bleeding was the final shock that caused you to black out. Next time you donate, make sure you sit still, have a warm sweet drink, tea, if possible, breathe slowly and deeply, and give your body time to adjust to the loss of your donation.
You'll be fine.

you need to eat breakfast before going to donate.in between donations, the blood has to have time to build back up.good vegatables. If you are borderline anemic.eating healthier is just good for you.not just so you can donate.
you need to drink good liquids.juices,water.
After donating ,stoop down.Never bend over.Take it slow.
That's why the Red Cross ask you to eat some cookies and drink ,sit down and rest before you get in your car to drive. If you smoke it's a good idea to not to for an hour or so after donating.
It's wonderful , that you took time to donate!
Take care!

Wife is 40 wks preg. Has high bp, on bed rest and cervix hasn't softened at all. Dr. says c-section. Advice
Needing some info to calm my wife. She does not want a c-section. Dr. says the baby is no where near her pelvic region and there is no pressure to soften the cervix. Any advice?Wife is 40 wks preg. Has high bp, on bed rest and cervix hasn't softened at all. Dr. says c-section. Advice
Can't they try to induce her first??? I had high BP with my second child and doc induced me 2 weeks early. Everything went just fine and the baby was fine too.Wife is 40 wks preg. Has high bp, on bed rest and cervix hasn't softened at all. Dr. says c-section. Advice
Doctors perform C-Sections more than necessary. I will agree your Dr knows best . Physicians like scheduling C-Sections because they are planned. Your wife should visit with the doctor once/twice a week with her blood pressure elevated. Look for swelling.. Ok MORE than usual and press on the ankles and shins if you notice more swelling contact the Doc ...
Call the Physician and tell the physician your wifes concern. Tell him that she wants a natural birth because state her reason.
Generally if an induction is scheduled baby will start coming down the birthing canal however, if this is to sudden she will not dialate and then a C-Section will be performed.
Is this your first Child? Woman generally go over there due dates with there first child. A physician generally won't consider a C-Section unless she is 42 weeks pregnant.
The stress of everday life will eleveate your wifes blood pressure causing more stress to the baby. I would try to calm her down... I know easier said then done lol at 40 weeks your ready to have your baby :) Just try to keep her calm.
Talk to the doctor and see if she can go on 10 minute brisk walks. This will help her delivery and help baby start moving down. Talk to your physician... but also your seman will also soften the cervix and get nature moving along.. Yes she is uncomfortable but she can lay on her side... and you fill in the rest.,..
I guess I understand the nervousness of the c-section, but honestly, the dr has your wife and baby's best interest at heart. She most likely needs to have that baby and with high bp, inducing labor might not be the best idea. Listen to the dr...he's going to do what's best for all of you.
Good luck and hope you have that baby soon!!!
listen to your wife's doctor. at best, the due date is a guess, but if she is 40 weeks and not showing any signs of being ready and has high blood pressure issues, a c-section may be the safest option for everyone.
i had my daughter by c-section (had placenta previa %26amp; traditional birth was not an option) and both mom and baby came through it like champs! i have a tiny scar and we have an absolutely beautiful baby (with a perfectly round head, by the way), and there were no complications at all. and, if you are not squeamish, you can be in the room with her to hold her hand. most c-sections are done using an epidural or spinal block, so your wife will probably be awake. they have a curtain up, so you and your wife don't have to see the icky bits, and you get to see the baby right away.
please tell your wife not to worry, c-sections are not nearly as scary as she thinks. she can go online to chat rooms for mom's in her situation and see what they all had to say.
They can try the prostaglandin gel to try and soften the cervix...they should at least try to induce her if she wants to try a natural birth. I was told by my Dr that the contractions are good for the baby. Teh can try the gel...ask her to ask him about other options than a c-section...ask for an induction first to see if it helps...then use a c-section as a last resort.
Ok i have had 2 c-sections. tell he that if she does the spinal block she will be awake through the whole thing but there will be no pain. you will be allowed to be with her during the process. and you both will still get to see your baby as soon as they are done. it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to get the baby out and 5 minutes to stitch her up. the only thing she will feel is a very slight sensation of them moving her insides to get to the baby. or she can ask them to knock her out. if she decides to do this you can still be in the room if you wish but she will not be aware you are there she will be asleep. they will wait to give her the anesthesia till a few minutes before they start, this way the gas will not have time to affect the baby. when they are ready they will give her the knock out gas and she will fall asleep. immediately after she is asleep the doctor will start. it will only take a few minuted to take the baby out, then while the nurses are cleaning up your baby the doctor will stitch up your wife. when she wakes up she will be in alot of pain but they will have already set her up with a strong pain killer. all she will have to do is press a button and within minutes the pain will ease. and she will feel better. if she decides to go with the spinal block she will not hurt as bad after wards.when the spinal block wears off she will start to feel a mild dose of pain. but before it gets to bad they will give her something for the pain and she will be fine. i hope this helps you both and congrats on your baby!
I was 36 Weeks with preeclampsia HIGH(BP) and they induced me...Everything went fast and I delivered @ 1:01 am ...I was started induced at 3:30 that afternoon.
That day i went in for a check up and the dr. saw my BP was HIGH and I had toxins in my urine. He said... ';we're having a baby today'; I was paniked
If the DR. says C-section he knows BEST! High BP causes LACK of OXYGEN TO THE BABY!!! And being 40 weeks...she needs to deliver now!
Also if she's already been on pitocin...the inducing meds and nothings worked then its DEF C-section time. High bloodpressue has risk of STROKE!! And CEASURES!
My BP was 166/111
My son was 5lb 6 oz. AND HEALTHLY!!!
Why doesn't she want a c-section? She should be very close to delivering and her primary concern should be for her health to keep the baby safe. Is she afraid of the surgery? Or of scarring? Because she needn't be. Address her fears with and be a comfort to her as best you can. If she has favorite music, play that and just make her comfortable. Best wishes.
I've had 3 c-sections for different reasons. For the 1st. She
was breech(coming out feet 1st). For the second I was in labor
from thursday A.M. 'till saturday 7 P.M. and only dilated 3 cm.
For the 3rd same thing no more than 3cm.
If her doctor is suggesting a c-section then she should do it.
It's not dangerous and it's for her baby's well being. Don't
take any chances. Listen to the doctors. They know what's
the best thing to do. GOOD LUCK! GOD BLESS!!
First I want to tell you both congratulations.
www.babycenter.com has a great area on c-section and a great section for dads and how to handle This very subject.
She will be having the baby this week if she is 40 weeks so I would suggest you get the things she needs to make her more comfy when feeding the baby. At least you have the heads up knowing your having a c-section and can be prepared.
One other thing i know you did not ask...But she has had bed rest and that is harder on a woman after delivery with muscle pains. You may want to get a massage book and help her out getting her circulation going. And it is good for lactation to.
Will the docor consider an induction? The high BP and bed rest might make that impossible. It could be that the baby will need to get out of there quickly. FWIW, I was induced at 39 weeks. I wasn't effaced, or dilated, and the baby hadn't dropped. It took a while to get going, but pitocin eventually worked.
There comes a point (a week or two) when the baby's and your wife's health will become at risk from staying in, and I'm sure you'd agree with just about everyone that the baby's health is the most important thing.
I'd talk to you wife and go through what is about a c-section that worries her, whether it is physical, appearance, emotional, whatever. Try to get those things down, and then address these issues with a doctor. When you have a better understanding of why she feels that way, you can then make a comparison against the health risks that will be developing the more you wait.
I did not want a C section either.
My 4th pregnancy was taken by c section, emergency. That was not a comfortable experience, I was totally knocked out, and was groggy after the baby was born, and i hurt something awful, taking a lot of pain killers.
. My 5th pregnancy had to be taken C section as well, i couldn't do VBAC because of the cut they used for the emergency c section. On 5th pregnancy I had an epidural and a bikini cut. I was fully awake and aware. I got to see my baby right away. I didn't use very much pain killer, it wasn't necessary. It was a positive experience.
I healed very quickly from the bikini cut. I was up and moving around in about 3 weeks.
I had less vaginal discharge, because there was no trauma to the vaginal walls or cervix.
I was still able to breastfeed, with no concerns for the medications.
This is my personal experiences. I hope they help with your wife.
No matter what happens. Your baby can still be healthy and happy.

Would you take advice from Tyra Banks or Dr. Phil or another?
Whatever problem you have (health, relationship etc), who would you take advice from? If possible, can you give it in ranking order.Would you take advice from Tyra Banks or Dr. Phil or another?
God, What a choice? Some snotty little ex-model or a big blow hard Texan! Maybe just buy yourself one of those magic 8 balls and ask it your own questions - should do just as well.Would you take advice from Tyra Banks or Dr. Phil or another?
Nope, I wouldnt take advice from them..... they get paid to say what they are told to say. They are nothing but puppets.
Steve Jobs #1, Dr. Phil, Oprah, then Tyra Banks!
No, I follow my own council.
Neither. Tyra Banks is just stupid, and Dr. Phil is all about sensationalism.

Give me some advice please! I have been ttc for almost 2 yrs. I've been to my Dr. & a specialist?
%26amp; the specialist said that there was nothing wrong with me, he wanted to check my husband, but my husband doesn't want to. I also have been bleeding between my menstrual cycles. Can someone give me some advice? Thanks.Give me some advice please! I have been ttc for almost 2 yrs. I've been to my Dr. %26amp; a specialist?
You've had all the advice there is to give. If there is nothing wrong with you, it's most probably him. Tell him to quit being a whimp and go get tested!Give me some advice please! I have been ttc for almost 2 yrs. I've been to my Dr. %26amp; a specialist?
I'd ask the doctor why you are bleeding between menstrual periods if I were you. Until that is resolved, I'd think you might have a problem. Might need a D%26amp;C and a clean slate to begin again.
I've heard that folic acid helps one to conceive and to prevent or help prevent miscarriages. Folic acid is in food so you need to find out what is high in folic acid. I heard of someone who had miscarried many times who suddenly craved wheat and got into a bin of whole wheat (not flour but the actual wheat grains) and ate them about every day. She got pregnant and that was what doctor said probaby helped it. It wa years ago. But seems like spinach is heavy in folic acid. Check out what it is in and eat those veggies. It is sure worth a chance.
Don't know why husbands are sensitive and reluctant to test. Maybe they take it as something against t heir manhood. Sometimes too much sex can cause no babies as the sperm level gets low so he might need to not take things in his own hands for a bit and you have sex only on days when most fertile.
Good luck.
if your husband really loves you and wants a baby he'd get the test done for a start.
ask your doctor if you can be given clomid to help you ovulate or anything but surely you would have discussed this with that specialist already?

I have had a very odd period for like 3 months now its usually extremely late and not very much blood for only 3 days or so and now my stomach is not cramping but it feels bloated and very very tight! What could this be? I am in no pain except my back but I cant explain the wierd periods and/or the tummy feeling tight, I also having an odd discharge every now and tehn I have been tested for yeast and UTi but all test were negative so What the crap is this%26gt;? Oh and BTW I have taken pregnancy test too all negative.. But the odd thing is I actually feel prego I have all the signs but the period it still comes so what the crap do yall think%26gt;?Ok I am going to the dr but..... I need advice.. come get ur 10 pts?
o wow... i have been having the same thing lately... seriously. wow. my period has been strange for the past 2 months, my tummy feels tight,.. ( my lower abdomen) and bloated... and lower back pain like no other. i have been uti tested, diabetes tested, if i may ask about your discharge? what is diff about it? jw. i have also taken tests, neg.... i can't wait to hear wat everyone says to you,.. because i would like to know as well....Ok I am going to the dr but..... I need advice.. come get ur 10 pts?
I do know if you think you are pregnat then your body will start acting like it. You ahve some signed of being pregnant but the fact that you have negative tests and you have had your period, 2 strikes against you. When you go to the doctors get a blood pregnanc test then you could get rid of that option right away! People do though get there period whrn there pregnant. Best of luck and yeah just get a blood test done!
some women do still have very faint 'periods' in the very early stages of pregnancy. The fact you're not experiencing cramping of any kind is a good sign. It sounds like you may indeed be PG, but too early for tests to accurately disclose. Don't worry, as soon as you go to the gynecologist, you'll know for sure. In the meantime eat healthy and don't drink or smoke (or do drugs of any kind) until you know for sure.
hmmmm- alot of cramping and alot of clotting are signs of serious ovarian problems- could be PCOS could be ovarian cysts- i would see if they can do an ultrasound on your ovaries- yup they can do those on a non pregnant woman- i had one about 3 months before i got pregnant because i was having serious clotting for an extended amount of time
IDK your medical history but last year I started experiencing the same things, even after SEVERAL tests said I wasnt I 'knew' i was prego- long story short I have PCOS which often mkes the body act like its pregnant. talk to your doc and have a vaginal ultrasound to look for cysts.
maybe the home pregnancy test is wrong.. i get my periods and i'm almost 14weeks pregnant.. so you can still be pregnant and have a period. mine last for 3 days and very light and very irregular.. but might wanna check with your gyno. i'm not to sure what that is..
How old are you? Maybe you are going through early menopause.
I think you better stock up on coathangers.
you should seriously go see a doctor, thats probably not something u want to hear because you are probably leaving soon and dont have the time, but it seems like it could be serious and its better to be safe than sorry.
What it could be really, is that the blood is accumlating. That happens to me. I dont get my period often and its always late. Then I get this strange feeling, and my back starts to hurt and the cramps kick in. The blood is gathering and then all of a sudden, it all goes out at once, and it comes out a lot!!... but then i get better within a week.
Maybe that's whats happening or maybe its something serious. Go check it out. There's really no definite answer to your questions because all of our bodies function differently. Hope I helped in some way.
it def is possible some woman have low hormones my friends mom didnt get a positive pg test until she was 4 months. but do go to your doc so they can make sure.

I am 36 and i always geting tonsillitis dr rec remove my tonsils any advice?
The tonsils are a part of our immune system, and when they are gone, our immune system is impaired. It is not better to heal the situation and eliminate the cause? I saved mine by resisting to have them taken out.
I had tonsillitis every year, really bad, several times - as long as I enjoyed white sugar and white sugar foods. When I switched to brown sugar, it was gone and stays that way, unless I eat again white sugar stuff. I find white flour items to be unfavorable, too.
Yellow D sugar, dried cane juice, white looking xylitol, organic sugar, all these I found OK. You may want to try them.
White sugar makes acid, brown sugar makes alkaline. The body cannot function properly when it is acid (urine and saliva). You can measure your pH level with a roll of pH paper from a health food store. It should be 7.5 at all times to heal and stay healthy!
You may want to try Dinshah Color MedicineTM. Dinshah would use Dinshah Green on the body from hip to head or Dinshah Blue with fever for acute tonsillitis. He would use Dinshah Lemon from hip to head with chronic tonsillitis. See more details in the book Let There Be Light by Darius Dinshah. I personally would use Dinshah Lemon and Dinshah Indigo.
Happy healing,

I am pregnant and have a 7cm. mass on my liver. The Dr. suggested an MRI. I am worried... Any advice?
I am about 6 weeks pregnant. The mass is vascular. Will the MRI hurt the baby?I am pregnant and have a 7cm. mass on my liver. The Dr. suggested an MRI. I am worried... Any advice?
At this time there has been no well known effect of MRI on a developing fetus. But, it is usually suggested that if the problem is serious enough, go ahead and do the MRI, if it isn't then you would be best to wait. Your doctor should know this though.I am pregnant and have a 7cm. mass on my liver. The Dr. suggested an MRI. I am worried... Any advice?
NO, MRI's are less invasive than x-rays. MRI's does not damage developing tissues; whereas x-rays do. So, you will be fine.
According to the National Instutite of Health, the effects of an MRI on a human fetus are unknown, but tests on animals show some delays in development.
You should sit down with your doctor and ask any questions that you have about the test and he/she will let you know all the risk and then you will feel better making a decision. If it helps my sister-in-law had 2 done while pregnant along with dozens of test and she now has a very healthy little boy who will soon be two.
Best of Luck!!!!
Ask you dr. if it will hurt your baby. If you don't like the answer or still feel uncomfortable about it, get a 2nd oppinion.

Is dr franka proper doctor..i am concerned ..he gives advice under the guise of 'dr frank'?
hopefully people will take his advice as a pinch of salt..we could all say we are docs with so many years experience but im concerned that he is a complete faker!! he is targeting vulnerable YOUNGSTERS..do not take anything he says to heart and...please visit a health professional..Is dr franka proper doctor..i am concerned ..he gives advice under the guise of 'dr frank'?
One of the problems (and advantages) with an open site like this is anyone can say anything and the questioner can believe them .I'm a health professional but keep my job title out of all this because I want people to accept what I say at face value not because I call myself anything special. For what its' worth, the person who uses the name Dr Frank seems to know a lot about health but using any online source be it this or search engines is no substitute for proper professional advice. Also I could call myself professor, her ladyship etc etc but it could be just a title I've made up .90% of the answers on the questions I've replied to give bad advice (present company excluded!)Is dr franka proper doctor..i am concerned ..he gives advice under the guise of 'dr frank'?
Mmmm. Anyone can call themselves a Doctor or Nurse, be wary. Any serious medical advice given on here should be taken with a pinch of salt - Except for the one that says 'see your GP'.
Simple homely remedies may be OK and worth considering or further investigation. I will quickly add that some of the answers can be comforting and reassuring, but should never take the place of proper medical advice.
Whether Dr Frank is genuine or not, I don't know.
However well intentioned people may be it is always better to err on the side of caution.
Just chose him as best answer to my question. hope he is a real doc, but even so the adivce he gave me made sense
you pose a good question. i think we'll never get the true answer. anyone can say anything on here and no-one would ever know if it's really true. i just hope that people who receive his answers to serious questions will take the advice from others, as well seeking professional help and advice from their own doctors
is he on here? Alot of people say they are what they aren't on here, and it is dangerous as others read their profiles and may decide to take their advice. It is actually illegal to pretend you are a doctor, as it encourages people to trust and that rust can be abused. You are right to be cautious
you are completely right... Anyone reading this, DO NOT take medical advice from ANYONE on this site. Anyone can pretend that they're a doctor, please see a REAL doctor before consulting people online!!
everyones first stop should be to a gp-but if they arent happy then, they must look at alternatives-including tips from non medical people, then they can go back for a recheck at their gp,or an alternative or private clinic-its foolish to think a non medical person has all the answers, but the same goes for a gp.
No wish to get into a personal debate with you rebecca j , but if you had read my answer properly :
'If you are still breast feeding you are likely not to have a period and unlikely to be pregnant. If not I would repeat the test in a week or so and/or consult your GP .'
'It said unlikely to be pregnant'
i thort he mite have been untill he triped up and told a young mum that breast feeding stops u getting pregnant....ive had 2 kids and know thats crap. no hes not genuine and ive noticed he targets youngsters. no idea how to report him....the advice he gives is dangerous and wrong. he sudnt be allowed to go round posing as a professional.

Dr oetker mini foil cases how do u part them without ruining them, they are to tightly packed, any advice?
I have a clean damp dishcloth which I use to moisten my thumb. I hold the 'tube' in one hand with my thumb inside the case and slide it up. Works every time. ( I can see myself doing it but I've not made a very good job in explaining the action)Dr oetker mini foil cases how do u part them without ruining them, they are to tightly packed, any advice?

Need some advice about pain and dr.'s?
i've had low back pain since my accident last year. it took since 02/07 to last month to get my dr to order a MRI. actually, my dr. passed away %26amp; my new dr. ordered (at same office) the test. i've also had pain in my neck, head, shoulders arms hands and fingers. the last 12 nights i've woke up screaming in pain feeling like i'm paralyzed at the waist. every few nights i wake up on my back with my shoulders, arms, hands %26amp; fingers tingling, burning %26amp; in pain. it takes about 40 mins for it to begin to calm down. This has occured off and on since the accident. lately (not to be gross) it has been very painful %26amp; almost impossible to move my bowels! feels like i may break my back. i looked @ my MRI on a disk %26amp; i can clearly see a herniated disk L5 to S1. however, the cervical part of my spine looks fine to me. so, i don't understand why i have so much trouble with my neck %26amp; arms etc. Can pain travel up from my lumbar area? i didn't think it could. do you know if a mri can show muscle spasms? my dr who sent me for the mri has refused to give me a medical refferal to a neurosurgeon because he says there's nothing wrong w/my spine. what?? wouldn't you think he would want (he's actually a certified nurse assistant) to send me to someone who specializes in spines? oh but he still wants to inject my spine with steroids. which doesn't make any sense to me. i feel like i'm at my whits end. it's an emotional roller coaster that dr.'s just cannot seem to understand. i have 22 things, most are genetic, that cause me pain. since i was 11 it's been one thing after an other. i guess i just needed to vent. it took so long to get someone to order a mri and now this guy wants to inject my back without me 1st seeing a professional. maybe he didn't look at the lumbar results and he's simply made a mistake. i won't know until Monday. i compared my mri to my boyfriends. he has had back surgery for slipped disks. my disk looks just like his. any ideas? any advice? i'm in too much pain to concentrate. thanx for listening. sorry so long. Need some advice about pain and dr.'s?
';oh but he still wants to inject my spine with steroids. which doesn't make any sense to me.';
Actually steroids are the first course of treatment for pain like you have, but they can also have a rebound effect on you and make you feel like you can do things that you shouldn't be doing and cause more damage. Personally, I know friends who have had the shots for years with no improvement, only to end up with surgery anyway. Steroids aren't nice to your body, but they do work for some people some of the time. You want to avoid surgery until every last avenue has been explored. Now I don't know why you are seeing a certified nurse assistant, but if you are that unhappy, you should get your MRI and a referral to a neurosurgeon pronto. Try not to get anymore flipped out than you are because what you see and compare with your boyfriend's MRI does not mean you have something similar. Leave it to a qualified doctor. There's a lot you don't know about medicine even if you think you do, because you have been dealing with genetic issues you whole life, you just don't. Honey leave it to a professional and listen to your gut and really talk to (I hope) a neurosurgeon. That's why they get the big bucks. Sorry so long. Remember, only you are responsible for your health, so be proactive! Carpe Diem!

Who knows of a good vet for cats in the Beaver, PA area? Is Dr.Lohr ok? I'm new in town; advice?
Contact your local shelter, they should be able to give you some advice.Who knows of a good vet for cats in the Beaver, PA area? Is Dr.Lohr ok? I'm new in town; advice?
Ask people you know who have pets - neighbors, workmates, friends, etc. Word is mouth is always the best recommendation in my opinion.

Need advice on suing a dr?
ok i had a hysterectomy andi have had all kinds of trouble after
i ran a fever before i left the hospital it went away.2 week later i was back in the hospital due to infection. so now i have a whole in my belly that had to be packed 2 times a day. have had lots of green stuff come out the dr cancealed the nurse an told me to quit packing it it is still 2 inches deep the bottom of the wound is curling in i dont think its going to heal right everyone says i should sue the dr
yes i am over weight and have a roll but it has been kept dry and clean ive kept pads on it does anyone know if i have a caseNeed advice on suing a dr?
It's very difficult to sue a doctor when there's surgery involved. They have you sign a consent form basically saying it's your own risk. The only way you would have a case would be if the doctor left a foreign object in your body or something along that line. I'm sorry.Need advice on suing a dr?
unfortunately you can't sue. you signed a waiver before surgery stating that you understand there is a risk or infection, death etc or something along those lines. but if you really want to you could always contact a lawyer for a consultation!

Do you have any anxiety problems? Is your sex life based on your thoughts of having to keep an erection, where you almost get nervous to have sex? If thats a part of it then you may not even have to have medications, just work on your mind.

I had pneumonia may 19th and i took levequin antibiotics for 5 days and i have felt good.Tonight out of nowhere I suddenly felt lathargic and a numb feeling super tense and stiff in neck but not neck pain.I had a little nausea yesturday and today and my vision is slightly blurred now.Should I go to ER? I dont hav a fever.Could I be getting meningitis.I am scaredWierd symtoms!Any dr's or nurses to help or good advice only please!?
Definitely go to ER, this does not sound good to me. if your infection has spread into your bloodstream it could get serious. It doesn,t sound like meningitis but there is a possibility of Septicaemia. Just see a doc before it gets too late.Wierd symtoms!Any dr's or nurses to help or good advice only please!?

I called the DR and they said they cant give advice over the phone?!?
I am 14 to 15 weeks pregnant with cramping pains. So, I called the ER and Labor and delivery and they said that they cant give me advice over the phone. They said if I was concerned to come in and be seen. Should I been seen or is this cramping normal?I called the DR and they said they cant give advice over the phone?!?
hey there. ER's cant give advice no matter what the situation is due to the chance of you deciding to go against their recommendation and them getting sued..you should call your doctor if you have real concerns...good luck!I called the DR and they said they cant give advice over the phone?!?
ER's won't give advice...but your doctor will. Call your doctors office, they will have a number for an on call doctor or nurse to answer your question. That said, cramping is normal. But if it's very painful or you also have bleeding, I'd suggest going to see someone ASAP.
not normal....go.
I have not met a doctor yet who will give advice over the phone, they do not want to be held liable for it. If you are really worried go in!
if i was you i would go in better to be safe than sorry
Um...that's not 100% true. If you were asking patient-specific things (like about your current medical state when it's not a worry), then they couldn't since it may not be you calling--it may be someone wanting your medical records.
Since it is a semi-emergency, they CAN advise you. But, since it is a hospital, they won't. Call your OB/GYN, a Women's Clinic, or Ask A Nurse. They almost deifnitely will help! They may just say, ';Come in,'; but that's better than, ';Come in if you feel like it,'; right?
Good luck and feel better! I'm sure you're fine.
Go get checked.

By following the simple advice on a Dr. Phil Show, I have finally found inner peace.?
Dr. Phil proclaimed the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started.
So I looked around my house to see things I started and hadn't finished;
and, before leaving the house this morning I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bottle of Baileys, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreo's, a pot of coffee, the rest of the Cheesecake, some Saltines and a box of Godiva Chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel.By following the simple advice on a Dr. Phil Show, I have finally found inner peace.?

However..he's not going to like you finishing off his Oreo's he started.

It shows your greatness with sharp conscious mind only. I knew one great Indian philosopher Thatthathreya who once proclaimed that a crow shown a great path to him and told it is also his Guru(saint) on seeing a incident. There was a struggle between a crow having a fish in its peak and two eagles for that fish. After some good chit chatting struggle the crow dropped the fish and sate quietly on a tree. But the struggle continued between the eagles. The saint on seeing this incident took it as a lesion for him to achieve peace of mind. When we go away from any struggle means we can achieve achieve peace of mind. God bless you for your well being and achieve great things for peace of mind.

I gave birth on 25 December 2008 and am now 8 months gregnant my Dr says i try viginal birth first. Advice.?
by cesarean and now my edd is 25/11/2009 is it advisable to try out vaginal birth now. isn't the scar still fresh.I gave birth on 25 December 2008 and am now 8 months gregnant my Dr says i try viginal birth first. Advice.?
if they doctor thinks you can try a vaginal birth then give it a go you will have professionals there to help if they think there will be a problem they wont let you go ahead and give birth naturally. but yes im sure the scar would still be fresh i always thought they recommend waiting 2 or 3 years before having another baby after a c-section. just keep your options open, if you are worried then have another c-section for less complications. good luck.I gave birth on 25 December 2008 and am now 8 months gregnant my Dr says i try viginal birth first. Advice.?
Of course random anonymous strangers can give you better advice than your doctor. That's the answer to the health care crisis, just let everyone use Yahoo Answers instead of doctors.
i had cesarean with my first son and he was 3 when i got pregnant with my second. i told the doctor that i wanted to try vaginal, he agreed, but he told me the risks: he compared the scar to a sewn up tear in a shirt. if the shirts gets stretched out again and pulled on (contractions), there is a chance that the sewn up tear will tear again. he told me that if my scar is torn during contractions/labour, then there is a 50% chance the baby will die. of the 50% that will live, 75% will be handicapped and 25% will be perfectly fine. the less time you have between c-section and vbac the more of a risk there is. i had 3 years, you only have 11 months.
You should listen to your doctor, not people on a website. You have probably put your health at risk by getting pregnant so quickly after the first pregnancy so I feel sure your doctor will be taking good care of you.
Ask your doctor abut it. If you don鈥檛 like your doctor get a new one.
Advice? listen to the trained, qualified medical expert and not strangers who don't know you, your medical background or the reason for the last section and probably have no medical training or qualifications in obstetrics or midwifery.cosmetics

i had cesarean with my first son and he was 3 when i got pregnant with my second. i told the doctor that i wanted to try vaginal, he agreed, but he told me the risks: he compared the scar to a sewn up tear in a shirt. if the shirts gets stretched out again and pulled on (contractions), there is a chance that the sewn up tear will tear again. he told me that if my scar is torn during contractions/labour, then there is a 50% chance the baby will die. of the 50% that will live, 75% will be handicapped and 25% will be perfectly fine. the less time you have between c-section and vbac the more of a risk there is. i had 3 years, you only have 11 months.
You should listen to your doctor, not people on a website. You have probably put your health at risk by getting pregnant so quickly after the first pregnancy so I feel sure your doctor will be taking good care of you.
Ask your doctor abut it. If you don鈥檛 like your doctor get a new one.
Advice? listen to the trained, qualified medical expert and not strangers who don't know you, your medical background or the reason for the last section and probably have no medical training or qualifications in obstetrics or midwifery.
Does anyone seriously think that Dr. Phil offers any real advice?
Do you actually take the adivice of Dr.Phil and apply it in real life.Does anyone seriously think that Dr. Phil offers any real advice?
Speaking from actual experience, my soon to be EX husband did nothing but watch Dr. Phil (which was one of the problems in the first place) but God knows it didn't help him in the slightest. It just gave him more creative ways to rationalize his uselessness.Does anyone seriously think that Dr. Phil offers any real advice?
I do I do.........He is righteous. He does make sense. Try it sometime you just might like it.
have no clue. i like Dr. Laura better
i don't take his advice but i think he does offer real advice.
dr. phil is a conservative christian. so i think his advise is very accurate, well thought and put together. it all depends on the advice you want and if you really want it. %26lt;%26gt;%26lt;ANNA%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;

He has this weight challenge program and advices people to lose weight, when he himself is overweight.
I think he's very smart and can size people up quickly to figure out what their real problem is. I also think he gives good advice. What I really like about him is how he cuts through all the crap and tells people the straight, honest truth. BTW, Dr. Laura is not a real doctor.
i think so...i mean who wouldn't wanna be call stupid on T.V ..i mean really!
I THINK BECAUSE HE TENDS TO BE STRAIGHT TO THE POINT AND NOT SYMPATHETIC THAT HE MIGHT SEND OUT THE WRONG SIGNALS TO PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT CONSERVATIVE. I HAVE READ SEVERAL OF HIS BOOKS AND FIND ALOT OF INSIGHT AND TRUTH IN THEM. I DON'T AGREE WITH SOME OF HIS PHILOSOPHY ON SELF EXAMINATION AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT THEORY, BUT IN GENERAL HE IS INFORMATIVE.
some of his talk shows that he be having people in general do relate to some of it. (its maybe for me)
Hell no, I think Dr phil is full of ****, i mean if you actually listen to whats coming out of his mouth, it's all common sense that anybody could tell you!

My cousin has strong smelling discharge. She doesn't want to see a Dr. about it though. Any advice?
My cousin is 13 and told me that she has bad smelling discharge and a lot of it. She's concerned about it, but is too embarrassed to tell anyone but me. I told her to see a doctor but she is too shy. Are there any ways of curing it on your own???My cousin has strong smelling discharge. She doesn't want to see a Dr. about it though. Any advice?
She may have vaginitis-. This can be caused by allergies, irritants (like perfume products), low levels of estrogen, or infections.
just go to the Dr.My cousin has strong smelling discharge. She doesn't want to see a Dr. about it though. Any advice?
Could be a yeast infection, simple thing, go to the doctor, they have heard it a million times! Encourage her to talk to her mother or other close female relative that can get her there....

Curing it on ur own could lead to more probs, I'd see a Dr.

To all dr.s coucelors and advice givers?
when people tell you their stories about how hard their life has been do you ever feel like saying ';boo fricken hoo shut up many people have it worse than you'; cause some people whine over the smallest things! To all dr.s coucelors and advice givers?
lol Yes! But it's better to be patient with them. Understanding things from their point of view can help explain why they are reacting so drastically to such a small issue. To all dr.s coucelors and advice givers?
LOL That's hilarious! Well, then there are those who act foolishly like that. People can be very selfish sometimes. In that case, it helps to somehow show them they are being unreasonable.
I actually don't do that because if someone is worried about something, there is a reason behind it. Everyone does eventually get their **** kicked by the real world enough to decide what is important and what isn't and we all humble out in time for sure, but we have to go through a little bit of what would be labeled as b.s. before we really know how we should feel about this and that.
a persons drama may be insignificant to others but to them it is a problem, their problem. and what professional would ever say that to a patient. we all need advice at some point, and we all need to have someone care enough to try and help, no matter how trivial it may seem
Never ever.
It is an absolute privilege to be with someone's emotional pain.

Thank you. I will take all the advice to seek out a dr.?
Hopefully It's not anything other than poor diet etc. The accu chek I am using to monitor my mg level is an accu chek active. I am 42 btwThank you. I will take all the advice to seek out a dr.?
If I were you, I would be prepared. You're more than likely diabetic based on those numbers and symptoms from your previous question. Just remember that it's not a death sentence. Merely a wake up call. There are many of us who went through denial at first. You don't have to do that. There's plenty of help available.
I have turned it around. It was a nuisance, now I thrive on it. It's like a game to see how low I can get my blood glucose numbers with diet and exercise. The more I exercise and the better I eat, the better I feel. I'm 55 and feel like I'm in my thirties. I was diagnosed type two about 5 years ago.Thank you. I believe it's best to accept dating advice from a good friend. Make sure this is someone you trust completely so they don't have ulterior motives. If they have your best intrest in mind they will be completely honest %26amp; supportive of you.
In general, go with your gut! Your instincts are key to living. You may make mistakes, but you will learn %26amp; grow from them. Remember, be confident without being cocky. A great date talks AND listens. If you get nervous %26amp; clumsy, laugh at yourself. Don't take things too seriously %26amp; you'll have a great time!
friends. they know who you are and what you like and dislike. they're always there for you no matter the situation and will truthfully tell you what they think. and they care about you and its all in your best intrest

If Dr. Phil can dispense advice, why not Mr. T?
I would take advise from MR T long before I took it from DR PHIL...If Dr. Phil can dispense advice, why not Mr. T?

Dr. Phil.. I pity da fool. he don't wear enough bling bling like mr. T. dr phil needs to get in the ring with Mr. T , then we see who oprah likes better.

Because Mr. T pittys the fool who is on drugs... and he aint on any
Mr. T gives good advice on what kinds of gold chains to wear. I PITY THE FOOL!

Any one can dispense advice. We all do it here on this site.
Dr. Phil has a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from North Texas State University with a dual area of emphasis in clinical and behavioral medicine. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Texas.
Mr. T (Lawrence Tureaud) won a scholarship to Prairie View A%26amp;M University, Texas, but was thrown out after a year.
In dispensing advice that people are going to use, I would say that Dr. Phil is more qualified to comment on relationships than Mr. T.

Im thinking about going to UNIBE in DR for medical school? any advice?
I wouldn't recommend the school. Unless you're really up to date on Caribbean medical schools you won't be aware of all of the problems. The short answer and smart advice is to only go to a medical school that is recognized by the Medical Board of California: http://www.medbd.ca.gov/applicant/school鈥?/a>
Not only is UNIBE not a recognized school, several states will not license graduates from this school. You'd be wise to check with your state medical board to see if it is one of them. But be forewarned, even if it recognizes it today doesn't mean it will recognize it in the future.
More and more states are changing their policies to only accept the schools approved by the Medical Board of California. California is the ';Gold Standard'; for Caribbean medical schools and only a handful meet the criteria. In the past three years, multiple states abruptly changed their policies to only accept California's approved schools, which resulted in many students having to repeat their education.

What do you think of Dr Phils wife giving out advice to people??
I cant believe people are serious about Dr Phil's wife Robin answering questions and giving advice. Just because she sleeps next to him each night in bed she is NOT QUALIFIED to dispense advice to anyone (unlike him). I cant believe people would think this is ok, I reckon its a money grabbing sham and I am sick of people just cashing in and exploiting the community just so they get more cash. What do you reckon? What do you think of Dr Phils wife giving out advice to people??
I'm afraid I have to agree with you.....I've got nothing against Robin, but it seems to me that, other than being a compassionate, nice woman, she has had no specific training into giving advice to people.
If I had a question, and I got a chance to ask it on the Dr. Pil Show, I would feel kind of cheated if it got answered by Robin, cuz she wouldn't be the one I went to the show for in the first place. What do you think of Dr Phils wife giving out advice to people??
Everyone (especially in Hollywood) gives out unqualified advice. She is just one of the lucky ones who is getting paid for it. We notice her more because she is a highly recognized person.
Lots of unqualified people write advice columns or books for the sole purpose of making a buck.
i don't think people should give advice on anything they have not experienced themselves or can at least relate to.
I think she needs a hobby
I think she needs to stop looking like Marilu Henner!
They both need to crawl back up oprah's rear end and croak
Doesn't bother me. But I HATE when he gives out gifts to all the audience members... usually some commercial sponsor's junk
Yet, here you are, asking OUR advice...go figure! %26lt;*)))%26gt;%26lt;
well a lot of the answers he gives people are common sense, most people can see the obvious answer. So she shouldn't have any problem! It'a no different than Dear Abby, she answered questions for years and never had an degree, just a whole lot of Common Sense!!!
Dr. Phil is bald.
Whatever. She needs to get a day job or stay home. It's bad enough Dr. Phil is so straight foward, now we have to hear what his wife thinks about it? Your right, she's not qualified so why should any of us listen to her. It's ridiculous.

Problem with a nurse at my Dr.'s office, need advice please?
I'm 8 months pregnant, but I've only been seeing this Dr. for the last 4 months. I lost my job and health insurance in February and ended up on medicaid. The nurse at this Dr.'s office treats me different from the other patients and I believe it's because of the insurance I have. She isn't friendly to me, she is with the others, she doesn't smile at me, does the others, she's rude and treats me like I'm bothering her and just a general waste of her time. I have an appt. tomorrow and I'm thinking of talking to her about it but I don't really know what to say without just going off and yelling. The Dr. isn't any different, he's a rude jerk too. I only have a month left and don't really want to change Dr.'s again, but I also dread my appointments and dealing with her. I've seen her chit chat and be friendly to everyone but me and it's been going on for 4 months so it's not just my imagination. I'm fed up with her attitude towards me, any advice on how to handle the situation?Problem with a nurse at my Dr.'s office, need advice please?
Whether you are on Medicaid or not, everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect at all times. I wouldn't confront her, I would go over her head and your Dr.'s head as well. Problem though is you have to do it after the birth of your baby.
Now if you are going to change to another physician, do it right away. First off, do you want some rude jerk delivering your baby? You should check with your Social Worker and find out what OB physicians are available to you. Try and find one.
Then, you write a letter to the Insurance Commission in your state and send copies of it to Medicaid, Social Services and the American Medical Association. Believe me, he is not going to want his name and reputation smeared on that board as a unprofessional physician. I would also send a letter to his office staff and his nurse stating why you left the practice and how it made you feel. I'm sure it felt crummy! I've been put through the same crap myself and it's not a good feeling, especially when you are pregnant. My first husband dropped me off our insurance right after I found out I was pregnant. I had to get Medicaid and was treated like dirt.
It also helps to write a letter to the editorial section of your local newspaper so word gets out that his practice stinks!
And send a copy of your insurance letter to your state Senator. You are being treated unfairly and I don't think you should continue with him. If he has a bad attitude because he isn't going to make big bucks being your OB, then you don't need him, suppose that attitude carries over into the delivery room and a moment that is meant to be special turns into total embarrassment because he's stupid!
This is a time in your life where you should be treated kindly, and compassionately. Please don't allow this to continue because every Medicaid patient they get in that office is going to be treated as bad as you have been. You don't have to send letters out until after you have the baby, but I would send hem. I have done it to Dr.'s before for other things and believe me the sqeaky wheel does get the oil!! I have also changed OB in my eighth month before as well. Take care!Problem with a nurse at my Dr.'s office, need advice please?
This is your OB we're talking about, isn't it?
It doesn't matter if you only have a month or so left-you don't want to have a bad birthing experience, do you?
The fact that even the doctor is a jerk is a good enough reason to change!
You should be able to trust and see eye to eye with your doctor.
Giving birth, although beautiful, is a hard job. You don't want a total @sshole making the experience terrible!
Ask around for a new doctor.
If you stay and have this jerk deliver your baby, you'll regret it.
And his b**hy nurse only adds more unnecessary stress to your delicate condition.
I once switched family physicians because his secretary was a total nasty b*tch!
You're well being is much more important.
You are not obligated to put up with that crap.
Do it for yourself and your baby.
GOOD LUCK!!
In regards to Claire's response: Everybody is different! Some people are nasty by nature! Those will just snap right back again-not coil back and suddenly become nice! It's obvious hat nurse is doing it intentionally. Give me a break, Claire!
i say change doctors! even though you said you don't want to - if these are the people that are going to be there when you have your baby... i can't imagine that would be the magical experience that it's supposed to be. tell them that if they want to keep all of their patients they better start treating them better. i hated my doctor too.
I'm so sorry that you are being treated in this manner. Having medicaid doesn't make one a lesser person, and I hate the possibility of the nurse's treatment of you being due to that sort of thing.
You need to speak to the office manager. You should be treated respectfully, regardless of your finances.
I wish you all the best, I hope that the rest of the pgcy goes rather quickly for you and that you needn't deal with rudeness for too much longer. If by chance nothing changes, I would really consider making a switch. I realize that you are far along, but you need to be comfortable with your prenatal care.
I would just come right out and respectfully ask her why she treats you differently.
You could say something like, ';You seem to treat me differently than you treat other patients, have I done something to offend you?';
Believe me when I tell you... she will watch her attitude from then on.
You only have 2 more months to go, then you can find another doctor. They shouldn't be treating you any different than their other clients. In fact, they shouldn't be dealing with any of the insurance or billing aspects of the job, either.
Ask if you can have a different nurse because you feel uncomfortable around her. Maybe if the nurse isn't there acting like a b*tch, the doc will shape up a bit and be nicer to you.
Just be curt right back. If you say something about it you could risk sounding like a paranoid fool. Be snippy with them and then forget all about it after you leave the building.

You could say something like, ';You seem to treat me differently than you treat other patients, have I done something to offend you?';
Believe me when I tell you... she will watch her attitude from then on.
Is it illegal to give medical advice (if you aren't a DR.) on Yahoo answers?
Well, I would tell you, but I can't legally give legal advice since I'm not a lawyer. Well I could, but I could potentially be liable if you took my advice and got into some sort of trouble over it. Also, it is kind of stupid to ask something that requires an expert opinion on Yahoo answers (medical advise, legal counsel, etc.)Is it illegal to give medical advice (if you aren't a DR.) on Yahoo answers?
no its not illegal ,people offer advice to others through out life as long as the recipient uses their common sense and also seeks medical advice where neededIs it illegal to give medical advice (if you aren't a DR.) on Yahoo answers?
It's not illegal as long as you don't claim to be a medical doctor when you are not.
If they ask, you have the right to give. Just don't claim to be a doctor!
It may depend on the nature of the medical advice. ';Try this drug'; or if you try to position yourself as an MD.
As long as we don't falsely profess to be a medical doctor n charge a fee for our advice/time, I believe it's ok.
If you check the terms %26amp; conditions it states that the answers are only opinions not facts
i would not of thought so unless you give the false impression that you are some kind of expert.
No, not illegal. If you are pretending to be an M.D. and give out info that could cause someone harm, you may have a problem.
Legal? I don't think the government is going to bust you for doing it unless you claim to be a doctor. But you could get sued.
I'd just use lots of disclaimers, such as:
';THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. BEFORE TRYING ANY TREATMENTS DISCUSS THEM WITH A MEDICAL DOCTOR.';
That's just what it is, advice, so I think it's ok. As long as the asker is aware not to take all answers completely or at all seriously.
NO it is not illegal. But, you do leave yourself open for a law suit if the person receiving the advice follows your advice and gets hurt.
No but it's probably crazy to accept it.

Not illegal! but I think you should think 100 times before giving a REAL medical advice because you'll be responsible for the others life!
Not if you are refering to something that has happened to you that you are trying to share exp. on. ,or if you state you looked up the info in a book, web etc...
Oppinions and helpful suggestions are fine, but I believe it's illigal even if the person IS a doctor.
Yahoo guidelines just say you can't use false credentials. You can't tell people you're a doctor if you are not but you can give advice on any subject. Here are the rules:http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_鈥?/a>
It is illegal to give medical advice, ie, diagnosing, medicine suggestions . . . in all situations, not just on Answers.
The correct answer always is ';Talk to a doctor';.
you ask some good questions(i looked at your previous ones)- but this is not one of them!
What kind of fool would risk their life to take medical advice from an unknown?
Not if it's peoples opinions. Or if they have gone through similar situations.
Medicale advise - it is advaice of a doctor. Other - it is just advaice :)
