My father in law has had multiple surgerys on his fistulas to the point to where another operation could make him lose complete control of his bowels. But they keep coming back and now it's gotten to the point to where he's okay for 2 days out of the week to being confined on his stomache on his bed for the remaining of the week. So all in all, all his dr's have to say is ';take pain management classes'; or ';take these pain killers'; No one seems to want to get to the bottom of this literally, and take care of it. Is there any way what so ever that would help these fistulas disappear. My fiance had surgery 2 mos ago to remove one of his, and it actually hasn't come back. It's been sore, but hasn't returned, and they aren't biological father and son. (really weird eh?) So anyway, if anyone could shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it. He's missing out on his grand daughters' lives and it's killing me. Especially since my 3 yr old is a PAPPA'S girl through and through. thanks!!!!Dr's in the st.louis area for fistulas? Any advice?
Wow I thought only women could get fistulas. Go to www.mayoclinic.org . I typed ';fistulas'; in the site's search and a list of items came up so maybe you can go from there. I know it's not near St. Louis but the main campus is in Rochester,Minnesota and they are supposed to be the world renowned for dealing with difficult medical cases. Good luck and I hope he gets better. : )
